I stumbled upon an oh-so-charming forum post today: [link]
I'm not going to dwell on this, because there are bigger fish to fry. However, I thought it still required a comment or two to show how redundant and thoughtless this "complaint" thread is.
Of course there is the typical thought that everyone who is obese got that way because they eat nothing but donuts and never leave their couch. Yup, that's me. I eat nothing but donuts and never leave my couch /s . Fat discriminators never take into account the circumstances surrounding an individual fat person's life. Such circumstances include personal history, finances, relationships, medical history, and undiagnosed illness. To them, we're all just lazy, ugly, useless slobs who only think about stuffing our faces with crap and what's next on tv.
Then, of course there is the always the dehumanization aspect of these hate threads. Our fat is so revolting and so offending, to them, we don't deserve respect. We have no feelings, and we have no emotions. They dont care if they make fun of us, they dont care if they shame us, the sure as hell dont care if they make any of us cry. (Bonus points for tears, even). Were fat and that absolves them from any responsibility to treat another human being with courtesy and respect.
I dont eat donuts. I dont eat candy. I dont eat McDonalds. I dont drink soda. I work out EVERYDAY. I love to exercise because it makes me feel good. And guess what folks. Im fat. My mother and I have no money right now. Were eating one meal a day to cut costs. Thankfully were still able to cook our meals at home. Many people, who dont have money, get their meals at fast food restaurants. The food is super cheap. The food also has a lot of calories. The cheapest foods available to people are the highest in calories. That isnt the fat persons fault. Thats the result of our government. Go research the Farm Bill. Go find out why the highest calorie foods are often the cheapest! Go find out why a good number of poor people are fat!
Four days ago, my mother discovered an article about Celiacs disease. It occurred to me, that I may have this illness. I stopped eating wheat and have been gluten free four almost 5 days now. The change was IMMEDIATE. A health problem that has been plaguing me for months now (think bowel related), stopped within a day. I have energy again. Im not angry or disgruntled anymore. Im thinking that I may be able to go off my anti-depressants. FIVE DAYS. All this occurred in five days of not having any gluten.
Celiacs destroys the small intestine to the point where the body cannot absorb any nutrients. In order to compensate for this malnutrition, I ALWAYS felt hungry. I would eat, and unfortunately, I would eat bread or pasta which only compounded the problem. So I was eating and eating, but still starving my body of essential vitamins and minerals. That, my friends, is how you get a fat Celiac patient.
Am I going to blame everything on a disease? Fuck no. I take responsibility for what I put in my mouth and at what quantity. Its just a little easier now that I dont feel like I have to eat every five minutes.
This is what I mean about medical history and undiagnosed illness being a factor in an individuals weight.
Anyways, people who rant about fat never come up with anything new. To them fatties will always be lazy and will never be considered human.
I respect my body. I feed it healthy, wholesome food. I keep it active. Im also fat.

Though the night's still glowing round
Yet I know the day is bad
Pop stars in a paper bread
And again I find my face
All neglected, out of place
In my hair there is some spray
